NOS, Beautiful, original, hand carved ' Inuit Life ' style piece Soap Stone & Caribou Antler Carving 8 1/2 ' inches High by 5 ' inch wide carving in the artist's depiction of ''Inuit Life'' with 2 Narwhal's ( Arctic whale ) on one side of the horn and on the inside there is an igloo, Inuit ceremonial drum, an Ulu ( Inuit Knife ), an Inuit hunting Harpoon and a fishing spear (or kokiwog) in the style of the Inuit peoples of N.W.T Northern Canada .
This beautiful carving dates to 1995 with the artist's initials and a word in the Inuit alphabet which I believe to be the artist's name carved on the bottom of the soapstone base. The translation could be ( Ma' La Tarijilipu ) according to an online translation site.
