NOS Beautiful, original and signed 8 ft high by 4 ft wide by 1 ft deep ''Killer Whale'' old growth red cedar carving with Georges depiction in the style of the West Coast ( Huu-ay-aht ) Nuu Chah Nulth first nations. This stunning masterful red cedar piece comes with abalone shell inlay throughout the carving and this stunning piece took George with the help of his grand son 8 months from start to finish from harvesting this hard to find old growth red cedar piece in the traditional territories of his ancestors 30 km from his home to finding the correct size abalone shells and carving this 2 section Orca.
The fin on this carving can be detached for shipping and if you look at the photos at the eyes of the Sea Bear which also have abalone but for the purposes of the pictures were left out to show where the fin is connected to the body of the whale
This beautiful wood carving weighs approx. 350 - 400 pounds and is signed by George Nookamus and
would make a wonderful addition to any room or entrance way.
George and his son are featured in the photos holding the carving in the back of his pick up truck.
